Before you take a peak.....

You need to be aware this is our old blog. Dave (the blogger) started blogging when, as a family, we went to India for 3.5 months from April - August 2008. This blog is the story of our time there. You'll find lots about our story by going to the 'archives' section of the blog to the left below.

The main group arrives

Another lazy morning after a cold shower!! We quite like it here as our kids get on very well with Praveen and Miriams kids and we can just sit and chat before the 80 or so people from Raj’s church turn up for the weekend and then the fun begins…

Group turned up in 4 mini busses at 10.30am and we helped them all into their rooms.

Afternoon we all went for a bus ride around the tourist attractions. Some amazing scenery from up here – most of which the camera just can’t capture - but here is an attempt:

and there are also some very beautiful people..... Look at this group of kids from a slum school that were staying at the school at the same time as us. We spent some time chatting to them:

In the afternoon we all went out for a 'sightseeing' tour round Kodaikanal. Some amazing scenery but the highlight of the afternoon for me was driving along in the coach when out of the bush/forest came the biggest bison I have ever seen anywhere!!! It was huge and the pics don't really capture the story but here's my attempt. The bison was close to our coach (see pic) and at one point stopped and turned at us...then turned away....:

You should have seen the (understandable) panic with all the home owners/shop keepers as this beast started to run through the villages. Shutters going up and people running for their lives - a seriously amazing site!!!
