Realised today I haven't said nothing about the trip to India this year...Had a great time. I think in many ways the best ever. Felt as if I came back this time having 'done' more than ever before. Raj (my mate out there) is setting up a trust. The vision is huge but it's so exciting partnering with him in it. He has all the money he needs now (personally) to be stable for 2 years which is great. If you want to know more about the vision out there I can mail you a copy of his business plan.

Raj had arranged a surprise trip to Delhi this year - for my 40
th!! We were at Bangalore for 2 days and then we flew off to Delhi to have a fantastic time. One downside was the flight to get there was 2 and half hours which was fine but to get back we had a 41 (yes 41 hour ) train journey!! Painful on the bum and all that....
The
Taj was just amazing. We spent the day there having arrived at 6.30am when it's a bit quieter....Too many Americans for my liking!!
Also went to Agra Fort and
Jodh Bai's palace which were also stunning! The history etc is India is unreal. We are such a small, 'modern' island in many ways in the UK......

I have added a few more India pics. here. This is one of a girl who
followed us round Agra fort. Lovely story of us taking her for lunch and really getting to know her. A big thing when all these kids who are begging really want is cash. It felt like we had got past that - even though we helped her out with grub and stuff too...
Kids like this stay with you for a long time.....

To the left is a picture of Raj, my good friend who was in the
UK for 3 years studying
youth work and theology and has now returned to India to set up a charitable trust.. If you want to see the business plan he has recently written for the trust you can mail me at
mailto:mthehiders@gmail.comRaj is such a good guy and has such a strong
understanding now of the west (good and bad) and also his homeland. He is so good at taking the best from both and using them wisely.
And finally on this post, here is a pic of some of my good friends that I have in India. All of them are people Raj has introduced me to really but they have become good friends of mine too over the years.
Their names are
Sreeni (and his fiance) on the left,
Shamni and
Camillo, and
Dinesh (on the right). They are such good guys and I miss them a lot when I have to return to the UK.
