Before you take a peak.....

You need to be aware this is our old blog. Dave (the blogger) started blogging when, as a family, we went to India for 3.5 months from April - August 2008. This blog is the story of our time there. You'll find lots about our story by going to the 'archives' section of the blog to the left below.

The last leg....

Woke at 7am ready for the off at 8am from the coach station which ‘The Beast’ took us to.

If you are getting bored with these posts and want the short version here it is :

3 hours walk out of the jungle,
3 hours drive,
stop to find out no bus til next morning,
sleep on concrete floors,
up at 6.30am,
coach at 8am,
travel on bus for 10 hours in scorching heat!!!
Arrived home - totally exhausted, bruised, battered and scarred (literally) but having had the time of our lives!! Welcomed by a very happy Mum. Tea and bed!

The longer version is:
Coach left on time and begun a very very long journey back home, through Mysore, and back to Bangalore. The temperature got hotter and hotter the closer we got to Bangalore. I felt like an egg slowly boiling!!!!! It really was too much on a couple of occasions and I just had to get up and walk up and down the bus…….

Reached Bangalore at 6ish (11 actual coach hours travel!) and then got a rick with the kids, the bags and good friend of ours called Dinesh. We arrived home at 7pm after 31 hours since we left 'base'!!

The most amazing experience me and the kids have ever had I think…… Long live Avalanche!!

Here's some pics from the Avalanche trip
