Before you take a peak.....

You need to be aware this is our old blog. Dave (the blogger) started blogging when, as a family, we went to India for 3.5 months from April - August 2008. This blog is the story of our time there. You'll find lots about our story by going to the 'archives' section of the blog to the left below.

It's not all as it first seems here at times...

You know for many of you (and for us at times) we have images in our minds of what India is like - hot, noisey, dirty, polluted, poor etc etc. Some of these images are true some of the time but not always - as I alluded to in yesterday's post (about the tech park).
The economy here is exploding and I don't think we have any idea of where the India's and China's of this world will be in a few years time...

We got a flavour of the 'other side of India' today when we took a trip to 'Garuda Mall' which is one of the biggest malls in south India. It is spread out over 75,000 sq. meters and includes 26,000 sq. meters of shopping and entertainment space on five floors and 120 stores (including Bangalore's own M&S!!). This, and other mall's in India, leave some of what we have in the UK standing (if that's a good thing?) and they are packed out - morning, noon and night.....

We had a lovely 'coffee and cookies' in the restaurant of a Habitat style shop. Just look at the place........!!:

And...... just look at my baby enoying some ice cream!!:

Finally (for tonight) heard last night that the senior leader at our Church (Christian Life Centre, Hereford) Tim Mitchell is going to be coming out for a week to see us in early June - 'sent by the Church'. This is fantastic as, not only will it be good to see Tim in this environment, but it is a clear 'next step' to the journey we have been on taking things from something I have felt is 'of God' to the family joining and now the Church looking at partnering with Raj and the Trust and Sreeni's Church - all very exciting.....
Looking forward to seeing you Tim!
