Before you take a peak.....

You need to be aware this is our old blog. Dave (the blogger) started blogging when, as a family, we went to India for 3.5 months from April - August 2008. This blog is the story of our time there. You'll find lots about our story by going to the 'archives' section of the blog to the left below.

The Fishermen Trust office

I emailed a number of good friends last night about the nned to furnish/equip the Fishermen Trust office which Raj has recently secured for free for two years. As ever, I am staggered by the response.....In short:

3 empty rooms (at the Fishermen Trusts new offices)
1 e mail (from me)
8 responses in (offering money)
24 hours (later)
£200 collected and
3 happy people (me, Raj and Nandu - Raj's worker)

Here's the pics of the empty office and, as soon as we can get it all, I will mail you the pics of the furnished office!! Pics of Nandu (Raj's staff member) and Raj at the office.
Here is the entrance. The office is on the ground floor of one of the trustees of the Trusts house:

The second room:And here is Raj about to submit his first years accounts to the chartered accountant. This is a big thing in India as often funding involves bribes etc and these Trust accounts are all part of the transparency that is central to the Trust:

Just 2 years ago, Raj and I sat on a beach in Goa and dreamed of turning what was in his heart into reality. The Fishermen Trust was born soon after and now it's a fully functioning charity submitting audited accounts. You have no idea how far we have all come....

Such a little goes such a long way out here....Could you totally furnish an office with 3 rooms for £200!?
