Here's another update on how things are going for our India trip next year.....lots of you have asked us how things are going and to save getting round to dozens of you over the next few months the old blog does it in a flash.......!!
We wrote an e mail in early October to a number of our friends with some 'prayer targets' we had set and this is an update on where some of those things are at and a slightly despearet plea for you to keep praying about this trip with and for us....
We asked you to pray for a few things but 2 of the key ones were that a) the house would be rented out (to some people we know) and b) that sarah would hear about her hip op and have it before we go
Well....not good news so far.....:
On the house we have had no interest at all from anyone really despite advertising it etc. There is one possibility in the pipeline but no gurantees at all. Renting the house is crucial or we will be landed with about £2500 extra on our costs (to pay the mortgage). Not renting it therefore is not an option.
On Sarah's hip, well we thought it was good news when we got a call fom the surgeons secretary the other day to say 'new government target & we have to do all hip ops by the end of the year'. A miracle we thought! Then we were told today that before Sarah has her op she has to have a bone density scan which.....has a waiting list of 3 months. 3 months wait, then wait for the op then recovery time takes us well past our leave date of start of April.
On top of this, if we can be really honest with you, it is really hard at the moment (for Sarah especially) to have believed for many many years that God will heal her (very specific promises that many of you will know) and to be told that she has this hip op is a real challenge as that wasn't what 'we had been told' would happen. Takes some getting your head round hey?!
So, sorry to ask you again, but please will you dig in with us and pray for a breakthrough in these 2 areas especially
We have said that we are giving it til the end of the year to hear of breakthrough in these 2 areas or we will have to seriously consider not going to India. Something we are all convinced is right for us next year. That said, part of that 'knowing' is seeing breakthrough on challenges like this.
We are fully aware that we may look back on these days one day and it will all make sense but for now, it doesn't. That said we don't want to over react to what's happening but 'be faithful'.
So with you, we stand, pray and watch......
