Before you take a peak.....

You need to be aware this is our old blog. Dave (the blogger) started blogging when, as a family, we went to India for 3.5 months from April - August 2008. This blog is the story of our time there. You'll find lots about our story by going to the 'archives' section of the blog to the left below.

Being Frank with Frances

Went to finalise the programme for the corporate sector training event we are holding on the 18th of July now. Key to this event is a good friend of Raj's called Kumar (otherwise known as 'Bublie') from an people development organisation called 'Mindview' (see previous posts). As you will have read before, Kumar is facilitating the PR and booking of this event that Rob (my trainer friend) and I will be delivering to organisations such as Hewlett Packard, Tesco (yes they are out here too!), Microsoft etc etc. Really exciting..... Rob has experience of this kind of corporate training but I am mainly flying by the seat of my pants - nothing new there eh??!!

It is looking as though, after the costs of the hotel and food are covered, this event will bring in some good money from the corporate sector to Raj and the Fishermen Trust. If things go well on the 18th, this may be a regular event?

After seeing Kumar we popped to see another good friend of raj's to promote some of the other training we are doing for up and coming leaders.
Frances is an engineer and runs a family business called 'Esther Enterprises' which, without going into all the complex details has a vision to make as much money as possible by acquiring land and establishing plans for builders to come and in, build and rent/sell. Frances vision is to make this money so that he can use substantial amounts of the profit to give to local church's in some of the remote (and very poor) villages of India.
Frances and his team has built a number of Church's were he finds people he can trust and invest in.

I sat for some time and listened to this guess vision and passion for the Church in the poorest parts of India and then saw the buildings they had built (at no cost to the village). Following this we spent half an hour watching 2/3 stories from people who had had the most amazing life changing events through becoming Christians through the Church's Frances has built. Some of these testimonies will utterly blow you away but i want to be careful not to put some of them 'out there' as they are very sensitive (you don't need more detail than that!) I discussed with Frances the possibility of getting some of these interviews translated into English and he is happy with that so that is my plan.

All I can say guys is you HAVE to hear these stories and see these people. I was blown away by what God has done in people's lives in remote, unknown villages in this country.
