Had a very chilled out day at home as we were all a lillte shattered. The rucksack we brought back was full of indescribable contents……soaking wet clothes covered in mud, rivers, stains, and other things (those ones had to be thrown I am afraid!). My wonderful wife (with a little help from me) ploughed her way through the bag to get everything dry and clean for the next day when we were to leave for another trip!!!! Janet (who rented the
house to us) has two helpers who do ironing and cleaning/cooking and we have ‘kept them on’ as it is their jobs so we have two maids which all feels a little weird. Anyway Sheila (the older sister - in pic on the right) does the ironing (and does it so well) so she did all the ironing before we packed again….
Evening we went oto Commercial Street – the place where the India go for their bargains. Had great fund. I got a couple of pairs of glasses for far less than I would pay for half a pair in the UK. Bought the 10 series of friends DVD’s for about £2!
Re packed as we were off to place called '
Kodaikanal' which is as far again away as Avalanche. It's not quite as nice as on the pic (!) but it is an Indian holiday destination.
Our good friends Praveen and Miriam (and their 2 kids) were picking us up at 2am to leave for the 12 hour drive to Kodaikanal.
All felt very weird being at ‘home’ for a day!!
